ChildrenJesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
Methodist Midweek (M&M’s)
M&M’s is our community-wide after school program for children in Kindergarten through 5th grade. It runs from 3:30-5:00 p.m. on Wednesdays during the school year. Each week children are picked up by bus at Lexington Elementary School and dropped off at the church where they enjoy a snack, music, bible story, crafts, and outdoor recreation. We sincerely believe that your child will be blessed as they study God’s word each week with their friends! Before coming for the first time, please complete the registration form and return the portions indicated to the church and school. Please call the office if you’d like us to mail you a form or click here to register online. We hope your children can join us this year!
Each Sunday, we provide a nursery with safe, loving childcare for infants and toddlers from 10:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m., allowing families to attend Worship. The nursery is located in the Fellowship Hall next to the kitchen.
Our Sunday School for children ages 3-5th grade follows a rotational model in three sessions. Children begin in Room 2 in a large group where they will be introduced to the Bible story for the day. They are then divided into two age groups. In the second session they will explore the lesson in greater detail and complete a craft. In the third rotation they will enjoy a snack, play games related to the Bible Story, and practice Bible verses. New children are welcome at any time.
Children’s Church is a special worship experience for children (ages 4-7) who wish to participate. The children will begin in the sanctuary. After the Children’s Sermon, the Children’s Church leaders will lead children into a Sunday School classroom where they will sing songs, hear a bible story, and do a hands-on activity to put their faith into action. Children participating in Children’s Church may be picked up in the classroom following the conclusion of the worship service.
Worship Activity Folders
Worship activity folders are available in the church entrance for to engage children in the worship service who wish to stay in the sanctuary with their families.
PrayGround at Contemporary Service
We have a “Prayground” set up inside the worship service where your children may sit and do activities during service while still being near to you. Our nursery care providers keep kids entertained during service so that you can get the most out of your time in worship.
Vacation Bible School
Each summer we host a community-wide Vacation Bible School for children ages 3-5th grade. It usually meets in the evenings during a week in July. At VBS children will enjoy dinner, engaging music, an interactive Bible story, a craft, and outdoor recreation.
Each December, children participate in our annual Christmas pageant. A couple of rehearsals are held before the program which takes place on a Sunday evening in December.
All kids (toddlers to teens) are invited to participate in this annual tradition. Please let Jennifer Marek know if you would like to be in the program. Practices are held on Sunday’s during Sunday School (9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.) beginning in October.
