Pastor William Murphree

Pastor William Murphree is an ordained Elder in the Texas Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. He has previously served in a dual appointment as the Pastor for Van Vleck First United Methodist and Boling United Methodist. As William served alongside the members, the churches continued to grow in sharing God’s grace with their communities.

William holds a Bachelor’s degree in Theatre from the University of Southern Mississippi and a Master of Divinity from Perkins School of Theology. He is accompanied by his faithful four-legged companion, Lucy. William enjoys exercising and reading, and has a great love for animals and comedy. Some of his favorite parts of being a pastor are building relationships in and outside the church, and helping people to grow in their understanding of scripture and grace.

Administrative Assistant

Holly Newton

Holly joined the church office team the summer of 2018 as the Administrative Assistant. In 2022 Holly added to her duties as the Youth Director. Holly also supports several church committees.

Holly was born in and raised in Lexington. She spent ten years away in Houston area where she met her husband. Before coming back to Lexington, Holly was a member of Channelview UMC where she was the Worship Chair and on several committees. She also worked for the day school as an Administrative Assistant.

Holly is married to Chase and they have three children: Aiden, Sophia and Haddie Mae. The Newton’s enjoy doing things as a family; rather it be outdoor activities or traveling or just watching movies on the couch. The family also consist of 2 dogs and 1 cat.
